Happy New Year!
We very much hope that more ringing will be able to take place this year, so here’s an opportunity to discuss any issues and offer guidance to help your tower to bounce back.
This is your invitation to attend an on-line networking event:
On Saturday 6th February starting at 1:30pm in your own home via Zoom!
Primarily for Tower Captains, but also Ringing Masters, Tower Secretaries, Steeple Keepers and anyone responsible for running a tower – please ensure that at least one representative from your tower attends.
Join to exchange ideas and listen to selected speakers on at least the following subjects:
Best practice for running ringing sessions:
Lead by John Booth – Ringing Master, Central District.
Retaining ringers, particularly following long enforced absences:
A joint discussion on ideas from participating tower captains and ringing masters.
Checking that your tower and bells are safe for a return to ringing:
Things you need to consider before you first raise your bells after a long period of inactivity! Lead by Mike Banks – DDA Bell Consultant.
“I haven’t handled a bell for more than 12 months, I’m not sure I remember what to do!”
How to answer ringers’ questions. A discussion lead by members of the Education Committee with input from all delegates.
(There are plans in progress to hold sessions, after a full return to ringing, throughout the DDA to facilitate regaining confidence on the end of a rope!)
What your DDA Education Committee has on offer for you today!
Lead by Andrew Hall – Education Committee Chairman.
How the dearth of ringing for many months could assist recruitment:
Things that can be done now prior to a return to ringing fully.
A joint discussion lead by Don Jones.
Keeping ringers interested! What we can do today. An open discussion by all!
The session will be hosted by Don Jones who is tower captain at Eckington, Manager of the Gordon Halls Ringing Centre, a member of the Education Committee and President of the DDA.
To obtain your joining instructions please email: email@example.com
We expect the session to last approximately 90 minutes but will gladly continue longer if there is sufficient demand. Unfortunately you will need to make your own arrangements about refreshments, but on the bright side you won’t have to drive home afterwards!
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 6th February at 1:30pm. Please book your place now!
