I am pleased to report that the new Management Group has held its inaugural meeting. The meeting was well attended with only two apologies. Richard Brooke was coopted onto the group as the representative for the Southern District. This will be voted on at the next Southern District meeting. The discussions included formally recording the DDA assets owned and ensuring adequate insurance cover. Discussions are also ongoing regarding a safeguarding policy for the Derbyshire Young Ringers. The meeting agreed that the Young Ringers will be invited to put a team forward to take part in the Arthur Ashby Cup this year. A meeting of District Ringing masters and Education Reps is to be convened shortly to discuss amongst other things thoughts on the role of Ringing Masters and how we best provide support for members to progress in their ringing. It was agreed to invite the new Bishop to be our Patron following her induction. The subject of proxy voting was discussed and will be a main agenda item for the next meeting in a month’s time. This was a very full meeting and all present contributed fully.
