At the 4th Management Group meeting the rules of the 2 striking competitions were discussed and amendments suggested to encourage young ringers to experience competition ringing. This was initially aimed at the Derbyshire Young Ringers (DYR) so that they are able to experience competition prior to entry into the national young ringers contest. The initial draft of our proposed changes were published in December 2019 and comments were invited. Several comments were posted to the website and other comments were made directly to the management group. The management group met again at the end of January 2020 and the main item of discussion was these rules. I am pleased to advise that the management group, taking cognisance of the varied views expressed, have agreed a new set of rules which will take immediate effect.
